Honestly this series keeps getting better and better for me!

Not only is Cynthia back, but they are constantly making the Pokemon battles so much better! Luxray using Rising Voltage with Electric Terrain, Rotom-F using Hex + Twave (two legitimate meta strategies), and swapping Electivire in on the electric move to activate Motor Drive made the competitive player in me so happy :]

16:58 I like how Ash felt damage after Pika taking a hit. Maybe hinting Pikachu getting a Battle Bond. Than again don't know if Pokemon can change abiilty. Static is useless I rarely seen it activate.

I always assumed that they always had that bond even without the transformation. or the closes is when Pikachu wears Ash's hat that is their version of the bond phenomenon. Cause it may look bad ass with Greninja, I can't really imagine Pikachu having Ash's hair.

Well, Static inflicts paralysis upon physical contact. Also, the opponent needs to be able to be paralyzed or else it won't work... But yeah : It's useless.

Paralyzed effect was useless for me. Even I don't mind that much if I got paralyze in game. Well of course it won't work against elite 4 or champion but for other opponent I can use a party of all paralyzed pokemon and still win lol

reduces your pokemon's speed by half tho, unless it was removed

I was about to say, this was a superb battle. I'm just confused a bit on Pikachu. If they show that Electivire has motor drive, why doesn't Pikachu have Lighting rod or at least Static? I haven't seen that ever pop off and I'm 100% sure every Pikachu has those abilities.

I'm fairly sure I've seen static take effect before. This was at least like 3 series back though, so I have no clue if they've used it recently.

Most opponents seem to smack the Pikachu around with Electric Types or Special Attacks, thus part of the reason they can excuse never seeing it (Physical Attack Response with only 30% chance of working on Non-Electric Types)

Pikachu has static ability but I rarely seen he activates it. Maybe because static has around 30% of chance paralyzes the opponent and Pikachu just have terrible luck or the director forgot it idk.

Gotta be Physical Attack too... think most trainers are wise enough to avoid it with Specials or like Denji, using Electivire(elec-Types in general) to pummel the rat.

You are correct about that. Pikachu would be better with Lightning Rod. Also, as of gen 6, electric-types can't be paralyzed.

His Pikachu has Static confirmed since Sinnoh battle with Roark

I guess they kinda forgot about that since then, it hardly ever activated afterwards.

Correct. 30% chance of activation(after being hit with a PHYSICAL attack) and can't affect other Electric-types. Its why we barely ever see it.
I'm curious what ability Lucario has though. Steadfast/Inner Focus/Justified. He's yet to be hit with a Dark Type Move or a Flincher.

Gengar as well, might have Shadow Tag, since I don't think anyone has been afflicted with Curse Body yet.
Dragonite could easily have Multiscale and we don't know it for how bulky it is.
Sir'Fetched... Ok ash seriously too many Mons with overlapping ability possible. But due to the lack of Normal or Fighting type moves at all, the thought of him having scrappy would be hilariously pointless.
Finally there is Dracovish, whom has yet to show an answer, though Strong Jaw is the consensus from one-shotting.

I sure hope they didn't make it worse once more by focusing back on Goh or Chloe. Not that I hate them both, I just dislike them continuously stealing spotlight from Ash. I would like to see pokemon battle not pokemon go. Goh start focusing on battle while catching pokemon and Chloe maybe participate in contest, I might like to see that than their current state.

Chloe might interested in contest now that she met Dawn in recent episode

The intro of the series kinda says it's about Ash AND Go, so one time it's gonna focus on Ash, other times focus on Go. with an occasional sprinkle of Koharu (I'm guessing that's Chloe?) I guess, it is a way to prolong the series as Ash is already from no. 10.000 to 70+ in what was it, 5 battles? Guessing Go first catches all pokemon or Mew (after passing project Mews trials) Koharu finally knows what she wants to be, and Then, close it off with the battle with Dande making him the strongest trainer and finish the series. I do hope, they will just continue the franchise but with a new trainer maybe? I don't want this part of my childhood dying :')

Am I the only one weirded out by the Rotom announcer commentating when another Rotom is beaten in battle? Like, he’s narrating as if he didn’t just watch another member of his species get beaten up.

Probably not, but to me I paid no attention to it as people beat up other people in organized matches with commentary and people watching, to me it's no different

Yo Volkner with the pro gamer moves tho... switches into Electivire for that Motor Drive and into Rotom Fan to use Hex (I assume it's Hex?) right after Lucario getting para'd. Dude's improved a lot tbh.

Am disappointed that once again, Gengar didn't get in a single kill, but whatever. Overall a very good battle if you ask me!

That said, I do kinda call bull on Electivire not being able to absorb that Z-move, but anime logic I guess.

And I don't think it's healthy for Electric Pokemon to overcharge themselves...
